Shalom Galaxy ministries was founded in the late 1980’s by Mrs Joy Nyabongo who was previously a secular musician before conversion.

She grouped up a team of young students and youth and started training them in music which gave the church then a new heavenly music touch which was filled with Gods anointing. Much was achieved as it was the first live performing Christian music Band on the only then television broadcasting service in the country-(Uganda Broadcasting Television).
